I MADE A TURKEY!
It took me 45 minutes, two phone calls to Mom and some online reading and video watching, JUST to figure out how to pull out the gizzards, but I made a turkey! Let me tell you, I am no Betty Crocker. Cooking proves challenging for me and I often find myself having "Amelia Bedilia" moments.
Since we weren't able to travel to see our families (Doctor J was on call) I figured this would be a good year to practice my turkey cooking skills. This would also provide leftovers, an integral part of Thanksgiving week.

I purchased an organic turkey from Central Market. It was hormone and antibiotic free.

{Into the pot it goes...stuffed and seasoned}
As you can tell by the sticker, this was the first time I used my Le Creuset (a Newlymeds "must-have" item)

I added oranges for flavor and color.

WOW! That's impressive! Maybe next year I'll be brave enough to make a turkey... that's a big maybe though!
Good for you!!! I was just talking to friends about how I have yet to attempt a turkey, and I don't cook, so, that isn't likely and since my friends don't cook either and we were all together this year for Thanksgiving...you guessed it, we ordered one made and picked it up! ;) So, I am so impressed that you made one and it looks delish!

Well you really could not go wrong with a Le Creuset pot. I swear they make everything better just because they are so amazing. But, you did such an awesome job! I think next year will be the first time I make a turkey and I'm a little intimidated! lol
i am very impressed...looks so yummy!
Wow! I am super impressed that you cooked your own turkey...I am WAY too intimidated to try!! Maybe one day...
I didn't think to add a Le Creuset pot to our registry, but a family member got it for us and I love it! Definitely a must for newlywed kitchens!
Hahah this is so amazing!! I am so proud! And a great use of the le creuset :)
